Saturday, 15 June 2019, El Palace, Barcelona

The GRR Awards 2019 will be taking place in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain on Saturday 15 June, just ahead of the International Insolvency Institute’s 19th Annual Conference.

Our Awards celebrate all the best cross-border restructuring and insolvency developments, people and places that made waves in the practice area between March 2018 and March 2019.

GRR will be presenting trophies in eleven categories this year, including:

  • A new award celebrating diversity from the point of view of gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation in a restructuring team or practice
  • For the most important cross-border recognition decision; innovation in cross-border restructuring and insolvency; cooperation in a specific restructuring or insolvency matter; jurisdiction of the year; and for the most significant restructuring or insolvency-related litigation
  • To one large and one small or regional law firm that impressed, as well as to a non-law firm advisory group
  • A lifetime achievement award to a leading light in the world of international restructuring and insolvency

Shortlists for each category will be appearing in GRR news during the month of May, with the winners to be revealed on the night of the ceremony.

We’ll also be unveiling the order of law firms that made it into the GRR 30 2019 – the top 30 firms by ranking in this year’s edition of our GRR 100 guide to approved law firms for cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters.

As always, the GRR Awards 2019 will be held in aid of the Swawou Layout School for Girls in Sierra Leone. In the decade since the project was launched, proceeds from charity awards ceremonies have helped triple the school's size - and it still continues to grow.
